Roof Repair in Ponte Vedra Beach, Rechecked When the Next Rain Comes

Most leaking roofs do not need replacing. They need the right spot found and fixed properly. We trace the water to where it gets in, repair it, and come back once a good rain has tested the work. Then we tell you what to watch for.

A Repair Is Only Done When It Holds

A ceiling stain is rarely sitting right under the problem. Water can travel along the decking and down a rafter for several feet first. So our first look happens up in the attic and up on the roof, not at the stain. Once we know the cause, we fix that, not just the spot you can see.

Coastal air is hard on roofs. Salt corrodes metal flashing and fasteners, sun dries out sealants, and summer storms push rain sideways under edges. Most leaks we find come from those small parts, not the shingles themselves.

We are a licensed general contractor, and a small repair gets the same care as a full roof. When the work is done, we check back and give you simple notes on keeping that area sound.

What Your Roof Repair Covers

Leak tracing
We look from the attic side and the roof side. We check stains on the decking, damp insulation and the path the water took. You get photos of what we found.
Shingle and tile repair
We replace blown, cracked or slipped shingles and broken tile, matched as closely as we can. On GAF shingle roofs, our work is done as a GAF Certified Installer, so the new pieces go on the way the maker intends.
Flashing and pipe boots
Rusted flashing at walls and chimneys, and cracked rubber boots around plumbing vents, cause a lot of leaks. We replace them instead of smearing sealant over the top.
Soft decking
When the plywood under a leak has turned spongy, we remove that piece and fasten in new sheathing before any roofing goes back down. Covering rotten wood just moves the leak.
Cleanup and a return check
Torn-off shingles, tile and old flashing leave in our truck. We sweep the drive and comb the planting beds for stray nails before we go. After the next heavy rain, we come back and look at the repair again.

Signs Your Roof Needs a Repair

  • Ceiling or wall stains

Brown rings or bubbling paint mean water is getting in somewhere. Even a dry stain can return with the next storm.

  • Shingles on the ground

A windy afternoon that leaves pieces in the yard means bare spots up top. Those spots let rain reach the underlayment.

  • Cracked or slipped tile

Tile itself lasts a long time, but a broken piece exposes the layer beneath. That layer is what actually keeps water out.

  • Rust streaks near flashing

Orange streaks below vents, walls or chimneys point to corroded metal. Salt air speeds this up.

  • Musty attic smell

A damp smell or dark spots on the underside of the decking often show a slow leak you cannot see from inside your home yet.

How a Repair Day Goes

  1. 1

    Free look and written estimate

We climb up, check the attic too, and photograph what we find. Then we show you the cause. You get a written estimate that lists each part of the repair. If repair will not hold, we tell you, and we can talk through roof replacement.

  2. 2

    Setting up

We set ladders safely, cover plants near the work area and keep the driveway clear. We tell you where we will be working and roughly how long.

  3. 3

    The repair

We remove the damaged material, fix any bad decking, then install new underlayment, flashing and roofing. Most repairs finish in a day.

  4. 4

    Cleanup and follow-up

We clean up, walk you through what we did and leave care notes for that spot. When the next good rain has passed, we come back to check that it stayed dry.

What Moves the Price of a Roof Repair

We set a price for a repair only once we have been up on your roof. The estimate lists each item, so you know what you are paying for before we start. Financing is available if you need it.

Roof material
Shingle repairs are usually simpler. Tile and metal take more care, and matching parts can cost more.
What is underneath
Soft or rotten decking adds wood and labor. We only know for sure once the old roofing is off, and we show you photos before adding anything.
Pitch and height
A steep or two-story roof needs more safety gear and time.
How far the damage goes
One pipe boot is a small job. Flashing along a whole wall, or several leak points, is more.

Roof Repair Questions

Something not covered here? (904) 922-3678

Is a fix enough, or is it time for a whole new roof?

Often a fix is the right answer. If the damage sits in one area and the rest of the roof has life left, we repair it. If the roof is worn out across the board, a patch will not last, and we will say so plainly.

Is the repair work covered?

Yes. Our repairs come with a 5-year workmanship warranty. If a part we put in fails because of the way we installed it, we return and set it right.

Why do you come back once the job is done?

A repair proves itself in rain. We check the area following a heavy storm to make sure it held. It also gives you a chance to ask about anything else you have noticed.

Will insurance pay for my repair?

It depends on the cause. Wind or storm damage is often covered, while wear and age usually are not. If it is storm related, we work directly with your insurance adjuster and share our photos, and our Storm Damage Repair page explains more.

How do I care for the repaired area?

Keep gutters clear so water does not back up under the edge, and trim branches that rub the roof. Look at the ceiling below when big storms pass through. Our care notes cover the details for your specific repair.

Tell Us About the Leak

We will find where the water gets in and tell you plainly what it takes to fix it. After the work is finished and a storm has rolled through, we stop by to see that the spot stayed dry.
